Is it the end of the Year? Everyone bustling for New Year's Eve parties, celebrations, ceremonies. Well, it's the end of a cycle, the Roman Calendar, so it's kind of energetically the end of the year. Cycles of Nature follow a different path... Sometimes man made cycles and Nature's cycles do culminate on the same path. Back to New Year's Eve... Tomorrow night people all over the world will be focusing on their prayers, wishes for the new year and looking back at what they have accomplished or not finished this last year. Nature's cycle of year ending was on the Winter Solstice, December 21st, give or take a few days, when all of Nature completed a full cycle of birth, growth, harvest and then death occurred. Tomorrow night, December 31st, which marks the ending of a man made concept of this particular cycle, humans will energetically create the same patterns of Nature.
Think about this.. if we humans can, and do, create our own cycles energetically, then isn't it a good possibility that we can do it daily? And Each Day is a New "Year". As the Sun rises each morning give thanks for life on that day, look at what you have done the day before, think of what you would like to improve, plan for what you would like in your life, and create it that DAY!
This year the end of 2009 comes with a special energy of a Blue Moon... the second Full moon of the Month. In ancient cultures there was only one Full Moon a "month" because the cycles were based a a "13 moon -1- year cycle" Ancient peoples understood that it took 13 "rounds" of Dark Moon to Dark Moon (that included only one Full (Light) Moon a month) to complete one cycle around the Sun. So back then, there were no "Blue Moons". And anyway, where does the name "Blue Moon" come from? Something I must investigate!
Doesn't matter why the energy of a Blue Moon is thought to be special, It will be because Humans are energetically thinking it will be. So, go ahead, participate in ceremonies and celebrations around the Blue Moon!
It is all Energy after all!
Blessings on your New Year! May you create your heart's desires!
Peace and Love

Ode to Tree
Ode to Tree....
It's Christmas Day and Christians around the world are celebrating their spiritual beliefs around the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve I went to see the movie Avatar with both of my grown sons. A movie I prejudged and complained that I didn't want to see "war" at a time I wanted to share in the energy of love, peace, giving, happiness and joy. What a surprise!
The movie centered around the sacredness of the Tree. For those who haven't seen the movie, I don't want to spoil it for you... so I won't tell you more. I thought to myself, "Synchronicity is always present in my life and at that moment, The Tree presented herself as the center of the connection of all life."
Indigenous peoples knew this. Westernized societies have forgotten the energy of life, the life force that flows through everything.
I will keep this short, Next time you are near a Tree, take some time to sit under the Tree, Breathe with the Tree, realize what the Tree has to offer all living things in ways that she gives: shade, fruit, protection, and contribution to the water and air quality of the Earth, her mother.
P.S. Go see Avatar!

Coming out of Darkness
Today, as the days grow longer little by little, most people in First World countries are getting ready to celebrate the holiday of Christmas. In most households there is cooking, cleaning, wrapping presents, and a lot of hustle and bustle.
Today I wake up to the Sun shining, give thanks to the wonder that I am here one more day to experience the absolute joy of Nature! The trees stand bare as they sleep through the intrusion of cold wind. They are unscathed. They stand strong and sure of themselves. The Black Birds play on roof tops, tree tops, and flit from one place to another. Do they worry about feeling "less than their neighbor" because they don't have as many gifts to give someone else? I bring in some wood and create a fire. I watch the flames dance and reach towards the sky. I open with joy feels as the dew that covers the ground melts under the burning rays of the sun.
Today I remember that these elements, earth, air, fire and water are birthed, everyday. Birthed so that all living things can experience existence for one more day.
Today I celebrate the Birth Day of Nature!
